Bertrand currently works as a Professor of Practice for the School of Informatics, Computing and Cyber Systems at Northern Arizona University. His primary research work is in cyber-security, and how to apply microelectronics and nanotechnology to strengthen hardware security. This includes the design of Novel Secure Elements, Physically Unclonable Functions (PUF), True Random Generators (TRNG), and the usage of nanotechnologies, such as ReRAM. He previously worked in the smartcard/secure microcontroller industry at Gemplus (now Gemalto), and in the POS/secure payment industry at Ingenico. Bertrand spent 15 years at Motorola Semiconductor (now NXP-Freescale) were he served in multiple capacities including CTO; where he was named “Distinguished Innovator” and scientific advisor to the Board. At Motorola he developed the smartMOS technology, MEMS sensors, RFLDMOS and GaAS for RF applications. In the last 10 years he has worked as CEO/President at Crocus, SST, AMD/Spansion.

Dr. Cambou received his Doctorate in Electronics from Paris-South (XI) University, and an Engineering degree in electronics from Supelec Paris. He has authored and co-authored 35 patents in microelectronics and cyber-security, generating over 350 citations.

John was CEO of Actel Corporation for 22 years until he retired in November 2010 in conjunction with the company’s acquisition by Microsemi Corporation. Prior to his years at Actel, he served as Senior Vice President at AMD, responsible for the Logic Products Group. Prior to this, John held various engineering, marketing and management positions at Raytheon Semiconductor and Fairchild Semiconductor.

John has served on the Board of Directors of Adaptec and Zehntel — both public companies, and MCC and Single Chip Systems — both privately held companies. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Alacritech, a private high-tech company involved in the data storage market, and at Pericom — a public fabless semiconductor company. John holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Kurt has held the position of Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California at Berkeley since 1998. Kurt’s research focuses on parallel computing and its application to computer vision, speech recognition, multi-media analysis, machine learning, and computational finance. Kurt has published six books, over 250-refereed articles, and is among the most highly cited authors in hardware and design automation. Kurt was elected a Fellow of the IEEE in 1996. Prior to UC Berkeley, he served as Chief Technical Officer and Senior Vice-President of Research at Synopsys, Inc. Before that, Kurt worked in the research division of AT&T Bell Laboratories. As an avid angel investor, Kurt has participated in the capital formation of ten start-up companies including Coverity and Tensilica.

Kurt received his B.S. degree in Mathematics from Maharishi International University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Indiana University.

Philippe is Executive Vice President of STMicroelectronics in charge of Design Enablement & Services since March of 2012. His career started at STMicroelectronics in 1989, when he joined Thomson-CSF in Grenoble, France, and took responsibility for libraries and ASIC design kits for the military market. In 1994, Magarshack joined the Central R&D Group of SGS-THOMSON Microelectronics (now STMicroelectronics), holding several roles in CAD and libraries management for advanced integrated-circuit manufacturing processes. In 2005, Magarshack was promoted to Group Vice President and General Manager of Central CAD and Design Solutions at STMicroelectronics’ Technology R&D and Manufacturing organization. Prior to his years at STMicroelectronics, 1985 to 1989, Magarshack worked as a microprocessor designer at AT&T Bell Labs from 1985 to 1989.

Magarshack is ST’s Enablement Executive at the IBM ISDA Technology Alliance for the development of advanced CMOS process. He sits on the boards of Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) and ENSIMAG Engineering School in Grenoble. He graduated with an engineering degree in Physics from Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France, and with an electronics engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications in Paris, France.

Taner Ozcelik joined ON Semiconductor in August 2014 as the Senior Vice President of the Aptina Imaging Business. Mr Ozcelik has served at the intersection of semiconductors, consumer electronics, computing and automotive industries for more than two decades. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Aptina’s Automotive and Embedded business. Prior to this, Mr. Ozcelik was Vice President and General Manager of NVIDIA’s automotive business – where he grew sales to $100 million, while doubling revenues every year and achieving booked business in excess of $2 billion. While at NVIDIA, he developed several award winning firsts in automotive, which spanned a variety of applications including infotainment systems, digital instrument clusters, automotive tablets and advanced driver assistance systems, which are now featured in more than 25 million cars worldwide. During his career, Mr. Ozcelik has also held positions as President and CEO at MobileSmarts and as Vice President and General Manager at Sony Semiconductor for their Digital Home Platform Division.

Mr. Ozcelik holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Bogazici University, Turkey. He is listed as an inventor on 23 U.S. patents.

Patrick is currently the Director of the Center for Research in Energy Systems Transformations at UC Berkeley and co-founder of the Foundry@CITRIS, a startup incubator on the UC Berkeley campus. Prior to this, Patrick was at Hewlett Packard 12 years, serving seven years as CTO– most recently as VP & CTO HP Cloud Services and Applications where he drove HP’s entry into Public Cloud Services and led HP’s mobile application platform strategy. Prior to this, he served as CTO for HP’s Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), responsible for managing IPG’s $1.2B R&D portfolio across all of IPG’s business units. Also while at HP, Patrick launched an incubator program seeding emerging business in long tail publishing, mobile and cloud printing. Before joining the IPG Group, Patrick served as VP and Director of Internet Computing Research at HP Labs, VP of Engineering and VP of Research at Cadence Design Systems, co-founder and Director of Cadence Berkeley Labs and VP of Product development for Evans & Sutherland Supercomputer Division. In his junior years he held management positions in the consumer and business product divisions of Alcatel in Europe where he was a key member of the Minitel project — one of the most successful, pre-web, online services.

Patrick serves on the Board of Directors of Stoic in Palo Alto and Audience (ADC) and several Advisory Boards including the College of Engineering, University of California Berkeley, the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society. He has also served on the Georgia Tech College of Computing and the National Science Foundation Directorate for Computer Information Science and Engineering. Patrick graduated from the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, where he received a bachelor’s and master’s degree and Diplome d’Etudes Approfondies (DEA) in Physics. He also graduated from the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Physique in Strasbourg with a master’s degree in engineering.

Jonathan is the CEO of PLAE, a new lifestyle brand for kids based in San Francisco, CA. Prior to PLAE, Jonathan was Co-Founder and CEO of NetBase Solutions. At NetBase, he led the company to prominence in the social media analytics space, providing software for blue-chip customers including Coca-cola, Kraft, JD Power, SAP and hundreds of others. Jonathan was previously an Entrepreneur in Residence at Altos Ventures and has served as mentor and advisor to a number of successful startup companies including Storify and CalmSea, among others. Prior to NetBase, he worked for Ariba where he lead teams responsible for Ariba’s business-to-business e-commerce platform technology.

Jonathan holds an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School and a BA degree in Computer Science with honors from UC Berkeley.
